Happy News to Weed Out Your Blues!

 Hi there folks!

It's your typical measly Monday, and I figured the world could use some good news coming straight from the source - me! It's been a huge week for most Americans and I'm no different. On Tuesday the inaugeration of President-Elect Joe Biden, (and former president Donald Trump's swift move out of the capital and the White House) went smoothly and perfectly with more inclusion than we've seen in the past four years. Along with a new president, something amazing happened to me. I got my COVID-19 vaccine, along with my mother and 78 year old grandmother.

We went to the vaccine site in West Paterson, where the old Model's was, and were slotted to get our shots at 12:10. The site was surprisingly well managed and very organized, everything was social distanced to perfection and was run by the Passaic County Sheriff's Office. They had us sit in the car (thank god) and wait until our time slot was called. Once in, we showed our ID and proof of appointment and signed our vaccination cards it was time to get the shot. They took all three of us at once and within 20 minutes of our slot we were all good to go. All that was left to do was to be monitored for 15 minutes and make our follow up appointment (February 17th at 11, though you weren't allowed to choose your next shot).

My grandmother and my mother are both fine and have shown zero side effects at all*.  Please go get your vaccine too, if you've been through public high school it's nothing compared to that.

Over and out!

Julianne

*I may or may not have had an allergic reaction and all the side effects but that doesn't mean anything. I am - apparently - built different.

  1. I’m glad that your grandmother went and got vaccinated as well as you and your mother. It’s important, especially in more vulnerable communities, to get your hands on the vaccine in a time where it may run scarce.
